East Africa tourism has begun to recover
At a conference in Mombasa this week tourism officials of Kenya and Uganda will be making plans for joint marketing of the 2 countries.
Topics addressed will include packaging, innovation and technology along with the potential for helping tour operators create 2-country itineraries running from the Kenya coast to the hills and lakes of Uganda.
Tourism in both countries suffered greatly during the COVID-19 pandemic, but in the first 8 months of 2022 visitation to Kenya increased by 91% year-on-year, and tourist spend more than doubled.
