In a televised speech last week, Kenya President Uhuru Kenyatta urged those involved with Kenya tourism to be creative and improve the quality and diversity of product so as to be more competitive in world markets.
And that destination marketing is futile without quality product.
The President also encouraged private-public cooperation on tourism, and the creation of tourism jobs for young people.
It's good to hear these messages coming from the top. We'll be watching whatever planning and execution may come out of this.
