On 28 October Kenya Airways launched its first North America route: 11,829 km Nairobi- New York JFK route, to be flown daily using 787-8s. There's no competition on this route.

And on the same day, Aer Lingus began 36/week Dublin-London City service using leased Cityjet RJ85s. BA with 37 flights/week is a direct competitor.
