The "new vision" announced in the tourism plan is for NB to become "The New Destination of Choice in Eastern Canada".
A goal is to increase annual tourism spend by 57% to $2B by 2025.
The plan makes passing mention of "the youthful millennium market" but provides no specifics as to marketing strategy or tactics planned.
Will NB be able to take tourism market share from NS? Will the Portland-Yarmouth Cat Ferry continue to operate, or will US DHS shut down the Portland terminal? If the Cat service ends, will NS be able to regain whatever US visitors are lost, or will these people instead visit NB by car?
Stay tuned.
