The Government of Quebec will provide $12M in grants to sustain major attractions in Montreal until tourism returns to 2019 levels.
Tourisme Montréal will administer the grants, which will help fund projects and installations at major inner-city attractions.
Quebec Tourism Minister Caroline Proulx said she expects Montreal tourism to return to record levels by 2025, when the city is again able to welcome international visitors and hold major festivals and events.
In 2019, Montreal had a record 11M tourists - a figure which fell to just 1M in 2020 as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic.
