Spend for January-July was $146.3B, up 3% from January-July 2016.
So if Tourism Economics' figure of $2.7B lost January-March 2017(see "US lost $2.7B in tourism in 1Q2017" in Related Listings, above) is correct, if not lost that would have increased January-July spend to $149.0B, representing 5% growth from January-July 2016 vs. the 3% reported now by USDOC.
Going from 5% growth to 3% growth sounds much less dire than "$2.7B lost."
