AAA predicts that more than 53.4M Americans will travel at Thanksgiving this year - more than in any year since 2005 - including 2M to 3M in New England and 4.2M traveling by air.
Boston Logan should see more passengers moving through its terminals this week than at any time since the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic. At Thanksgiving 2020, departures from Logan were down 73% from 2019.
According to AAA, people currently are booking mostly last-minute domestic trips closer to home. Popular destinations include Florida and major cities.
