Per a statement posted this morning on DiscoverNewEngland.org:
"After careful consideration, the board of directors and staff at Discover New England (DNE) have made the decision to postpone the 2020 Discover New England Summit due to concerns surrounding the COVID-19 virus.
"The Summit, originally scheduled for May 11-12, 2020 in Newry, Maine, will be postponed until next spring.
"Discover New England is committed to holding a superior event and marketplace for the New England tourism industry and international tour operators. With the situation evolving rapidly, moving forward with the extensive planning an event like this requires is not prudent at this time.
"DNE staff will be processing refunds for all those who have paid registrations, exhibitor space and/or sponsorships for this year’s Summit."
80+ international and receptive tour operators from countries including China and Italy - both hard hit by COVID-19 - normally attend this event.
