Discover New England releases FY 2023 Annual Report
The mission of Discover New England (DNE) is to market the New England region in international markets as a single destination. DNE holds annually a Summit and Marketplace (see photo above) that puts New England tourism suppliers together with buyers like overseas tour operators and US receptive operators.
At the 2023 Summit held in Boston, DNE hosted 73 buyers who met one-on-one with 118 New England suppliers.
DNE works with:
- Representation Offices in the UK, Ireland and Germany/Austria/Switzerland
- Partners in France, Japan, Netherlands, Italy and the US
Highlights of FY2023 in a nutshell:
- DNE ran 11 promotional campaigns that ranged in length from 2 to 20 weeks, reached 71,937,750 world consumers and had an earned media value of $1,072,346.94.
- In aggregate these campaigns produced 29,201,771 ad impressions; 64,347 clicks; and $7,554,337 in bookings.
Overall demand from DNE's primary target markets is forecast to grow by 29.8% to 2025.
Comment: Unfortunately, 2024 visitation from China is a bigger unknown, with Chinese demand right now for US visas at only about 15-20% of what it was in 2019. Will that situation improve after the upcoming Holiday Season? Stay tuned.
