Gov. Paul LePage

In a statement released yesterday, Maine Governor Paul LePage announced that DECD Commissioner George Gervais will be departing that post on 22 June 2018. Deputy Commissioner Denise Garland will be acting Commissioner.

LePage praised Gervais for Maine economic growth that occurred during his tenure.

Gervais has been DECD Commissioner since 2011. The DECD is comprised of among other units the Maine Office of Tourism, and the Maine International Trade Center.
