Latest Tourism Enterprise Grant winners are:
- Visit Freeport - $8250 to promote Pumpkin Trail in conjunction with Coastal Maine Botanical Gardens, Maine Maritime Museum and Damariscotta Pumpkinfest
- Bates Dance Festival - $10.000 to build cultural tourism in Lewiston-Auburn
- Farnsworth Museum - $9250 to brand Rockland as Art Capital of Maine
- Wesserunsett Arts Council - $3877 to support Somerset County Rural Cultural Plan and Skowhegan Cheese, Brews and Bread festival
- Abbe Museum - $10,000 to promote Bar Harbor Indian Market
- Northern Forest Center - $2450 to promote Moosehead Lake Region events
- Main Street Bucksport - $2500 to promote International Maritime Film Festival
4 of 7 grants went to coastal communities. Do Freeport, Rockland, Bar Harbor and Bucksport really need this State help as much as Lewiston-Auburn, Somerset County and the Moosehead Lake region??
MOT will begin accepting Spring 2019 grant applications in April.
