The proposed wind-farm projects would include more than 230 500-foot-tall wind turbines along with a 1400-foot-wide transmission-line right-of-way via which 75% or more of the power generated will be sent to Massachusetts and south.
So I can see why people in Somerset County on the west side of Moosehead Lake would prefer not to have this project go forward.
CMP says this at cmpco.com:
"Central Maine Power Company is committed to meeting high standards of environmental stewardship in the communities we serve and to conducting business in a manner that minimizes adverse environmental impacts on present and future generations."
Seems tough to reconcile that with the proposed wind-farm project.
