Per the terms of the settlement reached between Airbnb and the City of Boston in August, as of 1 December 2019 Airbnb has removed from its listings all Boston properties that have failed to register under the City's new short-term-rental regulations that were enacted earlier this year to address a shortage of affordable housing for residents.
Boston Inspectional Services records currently show only 775 fully approved, registered short-term rental properties, vs. the 6000 listed in Boston by Airbnb in November.
