On 25 June 2019 a delegation led by Director General Meenakshi Sharma of the Ministry of Tourism of India met at the Sheraton Boston hotel with US tour operators and travel agents to showcase the attributes of "Incredible India."
Some Indian tourism statistics:
- India has 1.2% share of world visitation, but 2.1% of spend.
- India's growth in international arrivals is 14%/year vs. world average of 6.8%.
- India has 18 international airports and is one of the world's fastest growing aviation markets.
- India offers e-visas to citizens of 167 countries.
- 274,000 Americans visited India on e-visas in 2018.
The delegation also visited DC, Seattle, San Francisco and Vancouver, BC Canada.
