JetBlue confirmed this week that the airline will suspend its winter seasonal flights from Boston Logan to Bermuda for winter 2022-2023, beginning in November 2022..
To keep the Bermuda service operating, the Government of Bermuda would have had to put forward a sum of money equivalent to what JetBlue could have made by flying other, more profitable routes.
The Boston-Bermuda service has also been suspended for winter 2021-2022, beginning in October 2021. Lack of demand since 2019 has made it difficult for JetBlue to attain minimum revenue guarantees for this route.
In a statement, JetBlue confirmed its commitment to the Bermuda route and said it's expected that flights "will resume in spring/summer 2023, as in prior years."
