In November 2020, then Boston Mayor Martin J. Walsh (now US Secretary of Labor) issued an RFP for a $2M contract for positioning Boston as a safe and inclusive destination. This contract was subsequently awarded to lead agency Colette Phillips Communications, which developed the initial campaign in collaboration with the Greater Boston CVB.
The campaign, which is intended to increase tourism to all the neighborhoods of Boston, was paid for with CARES Act funds which had to be spent very fast - by the end of December 2020.
Accordingly, in April 2021, then Boston Acting Mayor Kim Janey announced the launch of All Inclusive Boston.
Now, in a media conference this morning, current Boston Mayor Michelle Wu announced the beginning of Phase II of the campaign
