NYC-based seaplane operator Tailwind Air announced yesterday that on 3 August 2021 it will begin nonstop weekday service between New York Skyport (NYS) on East 23rd Street in Manhattan and Boston Harbor (BNH), connecting by dedicated water-taxi service to the South Boston waterfront.
Tailwind Air claims their route will reduce downtown NYC - downtown Boston trip time by 40%-60% compared with flights to/from major airports.
Tailwind plans to use 8-passenger Cessna Caravan EX aircraft for the NYC-Boston service, with flight time of about 75 minutes.
Both NYS-BNH and BNH-NYS will offer 4/day flights August-November 2021.
Tailwind Air says it's "dog-friendly" but "important restrictions apply."
Tickets are offered at $395 and up one-way, or $5950 for a "10 Pack Commuter Book," including one bag up to 20 pounds, on FlyTailwind.com .
