At a meeting of the Fall River City Council Committee on Ordinances and Legislation on 8 May 2018, committee members discussed a proposal dating from December 2017 for the creation of a Director of Tourism and Cultural Affairs position with an annual salary not to exceed $60K.

But the committee deferred any action on the proposed ordinance to an indefinite later date, and for now are continuing to gather information.
