Last week MOTT reported these Massachusetts lodging stats for October 2018 vs. October 2017:
- Occupancy 81.5% (+3.2%)
- Rooms sold 2.2M (+7%)
- ADR $214.46 (+4.9%)
- RevPAR $174.74 (+8.3%)
- Room revenue $473.2M (+12.2%)
And for 31 October 2018 YTD:
- Occupancy 72.6% (+1.9%)
- ADR $189.97 (+0.7%)
- RevPAR $137.93 (+2.6%)
Good for Boston hoteliers, and for those in places like Portsmouth, NH and Portland, ME also, who are getting overflow business at rates below Boston rates but above what they could get when rooms in Boston were more affordable.
But too bad for those who want to visit Boston but can't afford $214/night rooms.
