Paul Jahnige to be first Director of the MA Office of Outdoor Recreation
This new Office was created in 2022 during the Baker administration, as part of the Executive Office of Energy and Environmental Affairs,which is now headed by EEA Secretary Roberta Tepper.
The Outdoor Recreation FY 2024 budget will be around $200K.
Mr. Jahnige currently serves as the Massachusetts Director of Greenways and Trails, and worked previously as a Community Action Forester. He will start his new position on 25 September.
He has BA and MA degrees from Yale University in Forestry and Environmental Studies.
It's expected that Mr. Jahnige will be working closely with MOTT on the tourism aspects of outdoor recreation.
