In a surprise move, committee voted 7-0 to reject the plan to construct a transmission line from QC to MA via NH because of "concerns about its impact on local business, tourism and development in the region."
In simple terms, they essentially found that the project would be an eyesore that would damage the state's tourism industry.
MA-based Eversource - which would likely have been the #1 beneficiary of the project - expressed "shock and outrage" at the committee's decision.
Expect an appeal.
