Vermont Gov. Phil Scott has proclaimed June "Great Outdoors Month."
The State Parks Department has launched a promotion in cooperation with Burlington-based Outdoor Gear Exchange to loan outdoor gear to first-time visitors to the parks.
That's an interesting idea. Hope they will be able to quantify the results it gets in terms of incremental numbers of visits to the state parks, spend, etc. and share those data with other DMOs.
