TSA has tested this protocol at 10 airports, but now they're beginning to roll it out to all US airports over the next few months.
The change doesn't otherwise affect what items travelers cam bring through security screenings.
Those enrolled in TSA Precheck won't be affected by the new regulation.
Better safe than sorry, right?
