Yesterday Donald Trump signed a Presidential Proclamation suspending entry to the US for most foreign nationals who have visited any part of the Schengen Area of Europe during the 14 days prior to their scheduled arrival in the US.
The Schengen Area includes Austria, Belgium, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Italy, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, and Switzerland.
The ban does not apply to most legal permanent residents of the US, immediate family members of US citizens, and certain other individuals as stated in the Proclamation.
DHS will issue shortly a notice requiring US nationals who have visited the Schengen Area to reenter the US through selected airports that have enhanced screening procedures available.
The ban begins at midnight Friday.
