Formula 1 organizers have announced that Las Vegas will join Miami and Austin as 2023 US grand prix race venues.
F1 races were run in Las Vegas in 1981 and 1982 but the 2023 event will be the first run on the Las Vegas Strip - a stretch of Las Vegas Boulevard in Clark County, NV known for its concentration of resort hotels and casinos.
The Las Vegas on-street racecourse - to be completely resurfaced before the race - will be 3.8 miles (6.12 km) long with 3 straights and 14 turns, and is expected to permit cars' speeds to reach 212 mph (342 km/h).
