In a presentation yesterday to regional DMO Discover New England, UK travel marketers Travel & Tourism Marketing revealed the emergence of strong demand from the UK travel trade for US vacation-rental properties suitable for multigenerational holidays to be taken as soon as the UK-US air corridor - agreed to in principle last week by Joe Biden and Boris Johnson - opens for transatlantic travel.
Britons planning multigenerational overseas trips will of course be looking for single-family homes or other larger properties that are both child-friendly and accessible by seniors.
Attractions and activities available nearby in the destination will also be important, as will cleanliness and hygiene of the property for COVID-19 safety.
Global business data platform Statista projects that UK spend on vacation rentals will reach more than $3.5M in 2021 and grow to more than $4.7M by 2025.
If, as many in the travel and airline industries believe is likely, the US is upgraded from AMBER to GREEN in the UK Traffic Signal System at the next government review on 28 June, the US will be open to leisure travelers from the UK in July and August 2021 on onward.
If you have a suitable property and are interested in this market, this would be a good time to get known to the UK travel trade and also create pull by doing some marketing to consumers in the UK.
We at ACRO Global will of course be happy to help you with that. Just send us an e-mail.
