As of today 26 May 2020 most of Acadia National Park remains closed because of COVID-19.
Closed facilities include:
- Carriage roads, parking lots and adjacent restrooms
- All restrooms
- Campgrounds - no reservations being accepted
- Visitor Centers - unmanned
- Concession stands
- Jordan Pond House restaurant and shops
- Wildwood Stables
The Park Loop Road is open to pedestrians and bicycles only.
Hiking trails are open except for some near peregrine falcon nesting sites.
The Island Explorer Bus Service 2020 start is postponed indefinitely.
No trash removal is available - carry out what you carried in.
These closures at the Park are expected to last at least until some time in early June.
Meanwhile, operation of all Maine lodging places - including short-term rentals - since April remains suspended until at least 1 June.
Hoteliers can now accept reservations for stays after 1 June, but persons entering or re-entering Maine from out of state must still self-quarantine for 14 days.
