Pure Michigan + Pure Opportunity

For 2023, the Michigan Economic Development Corporation (MEDC) has launched a "reimagined" Pure Opportunity business marketing program along with an "evolution" of the Pure Michigan tourism campaign.

The 2023 national Pure Michigan campaign invites visitors to "Keep It Fresh" delivered via 3 new TV commercials titled "Fresh Voices", "Fresh Air" and "Fresh Path" with voiceover by Detroit poet jessica Care moore [sic].

The campaign will run on national TV during summer 2023 on the Discovery, Food Network, HGTV and Magnolia networks, targeting all of Michigan and these cities:

  • Atlanta
  • Chicago
  • Cincinnati
  • Cleveland
  • Columbus
  • Dayton
  • Fort Wayne
  • Green Bay
  • Indianapolis
  • Louisville
  • Milwaukee
  • Minneapolis
  • South Bend
  • St. Louis
  • Toledo

Pure Michigan campaign will also run on digital, connected and linear TV, print, social media, radio and streaming audio, and will feature co-op advertising with regional partners including Grand Rapids, Ann Arbor and Traverse City.

Pure Opportunity campaign is running on TV, connected TV, digital, print, social media, search, radio, podcast and OOH. Print ads are appearing in both national and Michigan media, radio spots on Sirius and NPR.

The Pure Michigan campaign first ran in 2006, and continued to run nationally except for 2 years during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Tourism advertising is scheduled to run through July.
