Green counties have <400 active COVID-19 cases per million people, yellow 400-799, red 800+
Per Vermont Department of Financial Regulation, as of 20 October 2020 around 1.6M people can travel to VT without quarantining, down from 11.5M in July.
States considered for travel to VT without quarantine are:
- Connecticut
- Maine
- Massachusetts
- New Hampshire
- Rhode Island
- New York
- Pennsylvania
- Ohio
- New Jersey
- Delaware
- Maryland
- Washington DC
- Virginia
- West Virginia
But currently, counties whose residents are permitted to visit VT - by car or by air, rail, bus or other public transportation - are limited to most of ME, parts of NH, NY and MA, and a few counties in PA, VA and WV.
With those exceptions, VT is off-limits to Americans unless they're willing to quarantine for 14 days. Quarantined individuals must remain isolated except for traveling to and from a test site. But individuals can escape quarantine earlier if they test negative for COVID-19 after a week.
The same rules apply to Vermonters who travel out of state: visiting any "red" state (see map above) is cause for quarantining upon return.
It's not looking good for Vermont tourism.
