Because of ongoing pandemic conditions, no 2022 race has been scheduled to be held in China.
Although the COVID-19 pandemic caused the 2020 calendar to be reduced to 17 races, F1 bounced back to run 22 in 2021.
Formula 1 said in a statement:
“It has been fantastic to welcome fans back to events this year, and we will continue to ensure this is done safely and in line with national guidelines. The pandemic has continued to present challenges to the 2021 season, but the entire sport has shown its ability to react and adapt to the challenges as they have arisen. While we hope the virus recedes further in the coming months for everyone around the world, we will continue to closely monitor the situation and work closely with the promoters and national authorities.”
