China National Tourism Administration estimates 53.8% of Chinese families traveling during the 7-day Lunar New Year holiday in 2018 will plan their own trips, with 40.0% buying group tours through "well-known travel agents" and 6.2% opting for low-price tours offered by smaller agencies.
About 383M Chinese are expected to travel during the holiday, with 6.5M (up 7% from 2017) going outside China - but for the most part to other destinations in Asia.
