The Northern Pass transmission line will run from the Canadian border at Pittsburg, NH (which is near Sherbrooke, QC) through the White Mountains to Deerfield, NH where it will connect to the existing New England power grid.

Purpose is essentially to carry low-cost Canadian hydro power to the cities and towns of southern New England.

Parts of the transmission line will be underground (expensive to build).

NH tourism officials are understandably concerned about possible adverse impacts on tourism.
