The ITIC CEO said in a statement:
"...the Government must support the marketing of Ireland as a tourism destination and increase investment in new tourism product development. It is one of the few industries that provides regional balance and delivers jobs in all parts of the country...It is high time that a new strategy is put in place for tourism growth that is led by the industry and facilitated by pro-tourism policies from the Government."
But I'd have to say, based on the Related Articles, above, regarding Tourism Ireland's current initiatives, that the Irish national tourist board is diligently doing its (difficult) job.
