According to the Northern Ireland Hotels Federation, increased demand occasioned by new hotels and rooms coming online, along with a poor image of hospitality jobs, make it difficult for NI hotels to recruit and train staff.
Proposed solution is to work with "education providers."
But based on our experience here in New England with a parallel situation, I don't believe offering more/better/cheaper hospitality training is going to be enough. "Native" young people aren't going to lower themselves to take these jobs - pretty much only immigrants, short- or long-term.
Mrs. May and her merry men need to fix the immigration aspects of Brexit right quick, or the summer of 2018 will be a tough one for tourism in NI and all of UK.
