With arrivals to the USA from China having increased by 466% between 2009 and 2016 (admittedly from a small base) - as the combined result of more air connectivity, 10-year visas and the efforts of Brand USA - competition among US destinations is heating up.
Los Angeles already has an outpost of the LA CVB in China.
Other destinations wanting to have a presence in China might want to consider locating first in one tier-1 or tier-2 city that has air connectivity to the destination, and do roadshows around China from there.
But maybe first get knowledgeable of the Chinese market and the 2018 Chinese tourist, and ensure that Chinese visitors will enjoy your destination.
