Despite NYC&cCo's earlier prediction of a 300K-visitor loss resulting from an anticipated "Trump slump" in inbound travel, in 2017 New York City saw its 8th consecutive year of record-breaking tourism, with 62.8M visitors including 13.1M international visitors.
NYC&Co takes credit for the city's good tourism performance, saying in a statement:
"Despite geopolitical challenges and a travel ban that made our task of promoting tourism more challenging than ever, we are pleased to see that we overcame these hurdles to realize a consecutive eighth year of tourism growth in New York City, welcoming an all-time high of 62.8 million visitors last year”.
Looks like the overall US and global traveling public aren't terribly put off by any "geopolitical challenges" coming from the Trump administration.
