Alabama Gov. Kay Ivey announced on Monday the award of $10M in Coronavirus Aid, Relief and Economic Security Act (CARES) funds to support the state's Tourism Industry Recovery Program.
The Alabama Tourism Department will use the funds to create and deliver advertising intended to bring visitors back to Alabama. Advertising will focus on the most tourism-dependent areas of the state, including the beach areas of Madison County.
Ads will stress that Alabama is a destination for responsible travel, and that all necessary steps are being taken to keep visitors safe.
