Dynamic video campaign targeting UK cities features Egypt's sunny weather
The Egyptian Tourism Authority, working with Google and Universal Media Cairo, has developed a video campaign targeting 6 UK cities with ads showing Egypt's sunny weather on days when weather in the target city is cloudy, raining, thunderstorm, snowing or drizzling.
The campaign API is able to detect live weather using the open-source OpenWeatherMap application and enable or disable video ad groups according to the weather of the moment.
Creative consists of a series of 20-second videos reinforced with unskippable 6-second bumper ads that aid in remarketing.
Google data show 134% year-on-year growth in UK searches for Egypt holidays.
