Kara Franker named President/CEO of Visit Florida Keys

Following a nationwide search, the Monroe County (FL) Tourist Development Council has announced the appointment as its new President and CEO of Kara Franker - since 2021 CEO of Visit Estes Park (CO).

Ms. Franker replaces former Monroe County tourism head Stacey Mitchell who left in March.

Ms. Franker holds a BS degree in journalism and communications from the University of Kansas and a law degree from the University of Denver.

She has served in the past as a Miami-Dade County assistant state attorney, Modern Luxury magazine editor, and SVP/Marketing for Visit Lauderdale; and also founded her own communications firm Kara Franker, Inc. with clients including Visit Florida and the Greater Miami CVB.

Ms. Franker will begin her new position on 9 Septermber 2024.
