London Mayor Sadiq Khan officially upon beginning his second term this morning announced his intent to launch with "immediate priority" a £7M+ 'Let's Do London' domestic tourism campaign aimed at helping London's economy recover from the devastating effects of COVIOD-19 travel and hospitality restrictions.
The campaign will feature London's food offerings and new public art installations.
In summer 2021 cultural and performance attractions are expected to have extended opening hours, and a return of major festivals to the capital is planned for autumn.
Mr. Khan said:
"Our new campaign is bringing together many of the capital's leading organisations and venues to offer an unparalleled experience for anyone visiting the capital throughout the year. With restrictions on international travel likely to continue this year, Londoners and visitors from the UK have a unique opportunity to experience all the capital has to offer without the queues. In doing so you'll be providing vital support for our world-leading venues as they start to re-open and need our help more than ever."
Also Mr. Khan urged Londoners to receive the COVID-19 vaccine as soon as they are offered it.
