The Florida Senate Appropriations Committee voted last week in favor of Senate Bill 362 which is essentially an extension of the sunset date for state tourist board Visit Florida to October 2028.
But in the House, Speaker Jose Oliva and Transportation and Tourism Committee Chair Jay Turnbull remain adamant that state-level tourism promotion is unnecessary, and Visit Florida should die at the current sunset date of June 2020 (which itself is an extension won by Governor Ron DeSantis last year).
Will Visit Florida survive? Stay tuned.
