Formula 1 has announced that as a precaution against spread of COVID-19 the Heineken F1 Joburg Festival that had been scheduled to take place 29 March 2020 in South Africa has been postponed indefinitely.

Fans holding tickets will be offered a full refund upon return of tickets to any Shoprite, Checkers, Checkers Hyper or Computicket outlet, or to any House & Home store.

South African Grand Prix CEO Warren Scheckter said:

"Hopefully it won’t be long before circumstances are such that we are able to reschedule the event, and we look forward to working with Formula 1 and Gauteng Province in our continued efforts to bring Formula 1 back to South Africa.”
