Leader of the Democratic Unionist Party in Northern Ireland Arlene Foster - whose support UK PM Theresa May needs in order to keep her government in power - said last Wednesday in a tweet:
"Another busy day in Brussels. Starting off with [Belgian MEP] @guyverhofstadt as we make the case for NI. We will not accept anything which separates NI from the rest of the UK."
This relates to a plan which the UK and EU governments seem to be close to agreeing on that would "temporarily" keep NI under EU customs rules post-Brexit, to avoid a hard Ireland-NI border - the problem with this being that after March 2019 NI will have no say in setting these rules.
