On 25 October an international conference on adventure experiences, sustainable development and tourism in the mountains of Pakistan was held at UNESCO headquarters in Paris.

Experts discussed their travels and expeditions in the Himalaya, Karakorum and Hindukush ranges.

Unfortunately, since 1 August 2018 the US State Department has had all of Pakistan under a Level 3: Reconsider Travel advisory, upgraded to Do Not Travel for Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtunkwa Provinces and the Azad Kashmir area.
