Alliance 46.2, a group comprised of French tourism businesses including Galeries Lafayette, Club Med and AccorHotels, has urged the Government to create and deploy a special police force in Paris to fight crime targeting tourists.
Attacks by Islamic militants, muggings of Asian tourists and the recent armed robbery of Kim Kardashian have led to adverse publicity for Paris. The tourism sector fears that 2016 tourist arrivals could be down as much as 5% if the situation isn't corrected soon.
