Program to encourage tourism businesses to operate 12 months is part of the new Greece Development Plan.

Initiative may include:

• Establishment of special tourism zones for year-round business development in medical tourism, MICE, golf and senior tourism
• Incentives to increase hotel capacity
• Training and education programs
• Incentives for tourism investment
• Agritourism
• Transition to digital

The current (third) Greek bailout program ending this month requires the country to produce a budget surplus of 3.5% of GDP, resulting in higher taxes (including 24% VAT) and plummeting investment and consumption.
