UN WTO projects France #1 destination in 2017, Spain #2, replacing traditional #2 USA.
USTA says US market share of global travel volume fell from 13.6% to 11.9% between 215 and 2017. Many blame "Trump slump" for that.
Spain was able to increase its share of inbound trips from the UK and other European countries in 2017 because of terrorist attacks and political upheaval in competing warm/sunny destinations like Turkey and Tunisia.
