Failte Ireland predicts that the current tight supply of hotel rooms in Dublin will "significantly ease" by 2019.
Of the 5,382 rooms slated to come online by 2020, 3,444 will be in totally new hotels, and 1,938 in expansions of existing hotels.
In May, Failte Ireland reported that hotels in the city center and near Dublin airport averaged room occupancy rates of about 90% on more than half of nights in 2016, and the average price of rooms during 90% occupancy rates had increased from €95 in 2014 to €140 in 2016.
