Failte Ireland targets North American golf market for 2019

In anticipation that Brexit scheduled for March 2019 will further weaken the GBP against the euro, Failte Ireland is targeting golfing tourists from North America for summer 2019.

Accordingly, Failte Ireland partnered with Tourism Ireland, Tourism Northern Ireland and 13 Irish tourism businesses on exhibiting at the PGA Merchandise Show in Orlando 21-24 January, to promote the "Golf Ireland" brand and tout Ireland as a top global golfing destination.

North American golfing tourists spend about 1800 euro per person per trip in Ireland, much of that on lodging, meals, attractions and other non-golf tourism products.

Failte Ireland also operates a Golf Accreditation Scheme aimed at helping Irish golf businesses meet and exceed customer expectations.
