Hainan Airlines has announced that it's discontinuing its Dublin-Shenzen service, and suspending Dublin-Beijing service for winter 2019-2020.
The airline will take no more bookings for Dublin-Shenzen flights after 26 August - the last flight on the route will be 2 September - and will take no reservations for Dublin-Beijing flights past the first week of October for flights ending 13 October.
That leaves Cathay Pacific's Dublin-Hong Kong service the only direct Ireland-China air service. And protests at the Hong Kong airport have caused nearly 1000 fights to be canceled since Monday.
Bad news for Irish tourism.
